Our last
day of the tour. Two leaving today and nine of us catching the same flights
back to Brisbane on Sunday.
On the
way from Pingyao to Taiyuan we stopped at the Qiao’s Family compound in the
Qiaojiabao Village (one hour out of Pingyao). The place redefines ‘being rich’.
I’ll let the pictures talk.
We
visited a massive Vinegar factory (they have been producing vinegar for 3000
years!). Although impressive (as a museum as well), and as had been warned,
vinegar here was more expensive (and not as good, we thought) than Pingyao
shops.
One hour
shopping (mall where most of the people were much much younger (Marg had Ice
Cream)! Went to a local eatery for dinner (mainly drink) and I bought a bottle
of their local firewater (52%) – will try it when Ravi comes up for Christmas.
